An endemic of the south west of the Mani in the Peloponnese in southern Greece. Deep pink flowers in the autumn that carry striking tessellations. The broad petals are of good substance and are thrown wide open to the sun. Short, broad, prostrate leaves after the flowers.
Beautiful, divided, glaucous foliage & long racemes of spurred white or palest pink flowers strikingly set-off by the black-purple tipped inner petals. A robust perennial with branching flower-stems up to 30cm.
Typically pale lilac-blue with a white throat and a scarlet, trfid stigma. The outer petals can be silvery or buff with violet lining at the base. Found only in Adana Province in Southern Turkey, where it grows in open woodland or scrub in a small area NE of Duzice.
Currently only known in Greece from this site on Mount Falakron close to the Bulgarian border. At its best, large, rich violet-blue flowers with snow white inner petals and yellow anthers. Lovely spring flowering race
Golden Bunch' is a pure golden-orange to sun-yellow cultivar of Crocus ancyrensis. Early and very free-flowering Turkish species with numerous flowers in mid-winter. Excellent rock garden subject for full sun. Naturally small corms.

Found in Northeast Greece. White, yellow-throated flowers with conspicuous black-purple anthers echo the heavy striping that marks the exteriors of its petals. Only recently described in 1980 it grows well in full sun.
Island race of this widespread subspecies bearing wide, chaliced-shaped, narrowly waisted flowers in both white and lilac forms with yellow anthers. Grown from seed gathered on Samos, considered a new, still unpublished species by Ruksans.
From the island of Corsica the flowers are a lovely bi-tone, pale biscuit with strong metallic purple feathering on the reverse contrasting with lilac pink interiors and strongly contrasting orange-red styles
