Crocus cvijicii

A very local, high altitude species, from the mountains conjoining Greece, Albania and Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. Large, scented spring flowers in chrome-yellow to orange yellow.   C. cvijicii requires plenty of  moisture when plant is in active growth in spring followed by a cool dryer summer but never completely dried out. Grown from seed collected in the Vermio mountains in Greek Macedonia.
